My name is Emanuele, or Manu. I'm from a beach town near Rome called Nettuno and I
have been living in Australia since 2000. After teaching in Melbourne for more
than 6 years I've recently moved to the beautiful Sunshine Coast and I'm now
living in Mooloolaba and teaching in the area. I'm very passionate about languages, and I speak fluent English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. My career in languages started when, at 13, I went to visit some friends in the USA. I realised it was difficult and frustrating to be in a country where you can't speak the local language. As soon as I came back from the USA I enrolled at the Language Secondary School and for the following 5 years I studied English, French and Spanish.
At 19 I left my hometown and moved to Trieste (far North-East of Italy) to complete my Degree in Translation and Interpreting. The degree covered foreign languages as well as Italian, and I studied grammar, cross-cultural issues and language history (philology).
During my degree I started teaching Italian to exchange students attending the local university; a fulfilling experience that continues to the present day.
Since the university years I have lived for extended periods in Portugal, Ireland and Spain and always enjoyed teaching my language and my culture to speakers of other languages.
